Our Sea World Adventure was amazing!
Yesterday we (Tim & Pam) took Chris, our youngest son, and met up with some wonderful VitaFit people: The Fulford’s, The Joye’s and the Alker’s. We played until we couldn’t play anymore and went home exhausted, a little sunburned, and excited to have chosen such people for friends. Perhaps if I describe some of the day, you can enjoy it with us – and skip the sunburn.
Jim & Peggy & Jacob were already looking for us when we arrived. They had VIP badges for each of us. Chris had his sister’s camera. I had my iPod all set to rack up some miles. (We both neglected to check battery status!) Tim was prepared with his filtration water bottle. Soon the Alker’s and Joye’s arrived and we all lined up to have a picture taken with Shamu. Luronda, Peggy, Natalie and I were concerned about the person in that suit – it was really hot outside! But the staff was so accommodating and quickly lined up the 12 of us for a photo opportunity. They handed a white slip of paper to one of us to identify that picture later. (We’re really not sure what happened to it.) And the adventure began.
Our tour guide had prepared a list of the best activities including the Atlantis ride, Manta, and Kraken, plus all the best shows. Wow! So many activities in 7 hours! We all agreed that we’d never have seen so much in such a short time without the guide. She got us in the front of all the lines and we had only very short waits for prearranged activities. Cool! She even kept us supplied with cold water. You just can’t get any better than that.
I’m not really sure of the order of things; as soon as I begin typing I promptly erase and start over. (No, we did that first.) Let’s just list some of them in no particular order. We fed and petted the Stingrays and Dolphin. We just fed the sea lions and harbor seals (no petting in that section!). Our lunch (or was it lupper?) was a buffet by the side of Shamu’s swimming pool. We listened to the trainers as they shared insights regarding the whales and the training process. (You don’t really train them – you ASK them to play.) We went behind the scenes at the Shark adventure and petted a couple of sharks (they were small – and no feeding). There were several aquariums – it’s just such fun to see all those interesting creatures in an underwater environment. I wondered if they were thinking about the human exhibit they were swimming near. We saw sea horses and sea dragons and penguins and a newborn dolphin and well, you get the idea.
The best part of the day was … all of it!
Please come with us on the cruise – I think we’d have had even more fun if you were there.
